SPGM for Mambo and Joomla!
Simple Picture Gallery Manager is an old and popular picture gallery. It is mature, small, simple, easy to use, and highly configurable.
SPGM is simple. Galleries are merely directories which contain pictures, sub-galleries (sub-directories), and thumbnails. SPGM does not have a database.
It was originally written by Sylvain Pajot and can still be found on SourceForge, but the original SPGM does not integrate into Mambo or Joomla! and does not have an administrative interface.
Our package integrates SPGM into the front end of Mambo or Joomla! (native 1.5), and includes a complete administrative back-end for it. The install package includes both the back end and the front end, providing a complete gallery solution in one easy install.
Version 2.xx of this package is a fork of the original SPGM code. It appears that SPGM is no longer being developed, but the latest version (1.4.7) contained some long-standing bugs that we needed to fix. Whatever changes we may make in the future, we will always retain compatibility with existing SPGM galleries.
There's a small gallery here to demonstrate the front end.

The Admin Interface

It appears that SPGM is no longer being developed, so we have forked it and integrated it into Joomla! with a brand new and complete administrative back-end. The result is a simple but powerful gallery, up and running with one install.
